Whether it’s Eddie pranking the Reagan family at dinner, Jamie and Eddie pranking their co-workers, or Jamie being pranked by the cops who work for him, “Blue Bloods” showed that pranks are just are a part of Reagan’s life. Behind the scenes it’s a different story. In a live chat interview with Connect, Donnie Wahlberg says most of the pranks played on him “involve the Yankees or the Giants beating my teams. They put up posters and stuff like that.” But one hoax incident didn’t go down well with the show’s producers. “They once put an 8X10 of Tracy Morgan on Danny’s desk, which made it into an episode, and we all got in trouble for having to CGI Tracy Morgan’s face out of the episode,” says Wahlberg.
While everyone cooled off from pranking Wahlberg after the incident, he still pranks anyone he feels like, but he doesn’t overdo it. “The pranks are pretty simple pranks,” he says. “Sometimes I pat people on the back and they look like this, and I do that [the opposite] way, stuff like that. Very simple pranks seem to work best.”
