House Of The Dragon Episode 3 Maintains An Ignominious Game Of Thrones Tradition

Read Time:1 Minute, 10 Second

Longtime Game of Thrones fans will recall that in Season 8 Episode 4 (“The Last of the Starks”), a modern day coffee mug was accidentally left behind for a scene set at the Starks’ home in Winterfell ( via The forget). While this is far from the only flaw fans have noticed in the series, it looks like House of the Dragon is already being added to the list.

In Season 1, Episode 3: (“Second of His Name”), several fans caught a faux pas that showed a green screen glove on Viserys’ (Paddy Considine) hand (via Twitter). King Viserys seems to have harbored a hidden affliction for the entire “House of Dragons” up until now, and while it’s still not entirely clear what makes him ill, the gauntlet was obviously intended to use CG to show that the ruler is ill two fingers are missing.

Unfortunately, someone (or people) seems to have missed the memo on this, and as such, the green screen glove is clearly visible in the House of the Dragon scene. On the plus side, we live in an era where this bug doesn’t have to be permanent, as streaming services have been known to correct bugs in previous episodes for exactly this type of issue (via CNET). Still, hopefully we’ll see less of this ignoble tradition as the series progresses from this point.
