According to an exclusive interview with Deadline, Emma Samms will be back on the show as Holly sometime in October. This will mark two full years since fans have seen Holly.
There’s a good reason for Samms’ long absence from the soap; She fell ill with Covid-19 in 2020 and subsequently struggled with Covid symptoms for a long time. But now the actress is in fighting shape and ready to return to the role that made her famous, just in time to mark a major milestone in Holly’s General Hospital story. “I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since I first appeared on ‘General Hospital’ and that I’m once again getting to play the wonderful character of Holly Sutton. Nobody cares more about what happened to her since we saw her being held captive by a mysterious villain two years ago than I do!” she told the press outfit.
Since all of Holly’s friends and family believe her life has been claimed by the Grim Reaper again, they will be in for quite a shock when she actually shows up. But leave it to Holly to make a delightfully dramatic entrance.
