Florida Physicians Will No Longer Directly Treat Unvaccinated Patients, Denying Violation Of The Hippocratic Oath.

Florida physician says she is no longer treating unvaccinated patients directly amid escalating COVID19 cases in the state.
Dr. Linda Marraccini, who lives in South Miami, said, “she believes politics is in the interests of her patients and she follows science, so she did not break the Hippocratic Oath”.

“It is not right to harm other people,” said Marraccini. She explained that she has other patients who are immunocompromised or undergoing chemotherapy and are therefore at a higher risk of contracting the virus, Marraccini said.

“The Hippocratic Oath is very scientifically based. I follow science. I use it for the benefit of the sick. ” Marraccini also notes that the Hippocratic Oath emphasizes the importance of prevention.

The decision came after she continued to visit patients in person “during a pandemic,” she said. She said there will be exceptions if patients cannot get the vaccine due to difficulties or if they need a prescription. Her office administers the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

“We’re not going to leave you in the cold,” she said.
She said that she received a 99.9% positive response,” but if the patient feels disagreed, it may be more appropriate for another primary care physician.

Marraccini says people should be educated about the vaccine and study its role in a pandemic that “shouldn’t last that long.”
“Responsibility concerns everyone,” says Marraccini.

COVID19 cases in Florida have increased. The state had an average of 32,301 new cases per day in seven days as of Friday, according to Johns Hopkins University, more than double the number of 15,818 new cases per day a month earlier. The percentage of the total population of the state that has been immunized.

Cases began to rise again in early summer due to the highest tolerated variant of Delta.
Amid rising cases, a group of doctors in South Florida urged people to get vaccinated in August, saying that most of the hospitalized patients are not vaccinated and many would like to be vaccinated.

Marraccini is not the first physician to refuse treatment to unvaccinated patients. The Alabama doctor said he will no longer see patients who refuse the vaccine from October 1. With the Delta option causing the latest surge in COVID19, the doctor said he had a difficult decision to make for his practice.

A South Miami physician sent a letter to his patients stating that they would no longer see patients who had not been vaccinated against COVID19 until September 15th. She says their rationale is based on science, not politics, and that they don’t want to put other patients and staff at risk.

“Millions of people have died all over the world, so this should not be ignored. People are moving to a place where everyone knows that someone has died from COVID, ”said Dr. Marraccini.

The doctor explained that her letter did not violate the Hippocratic Oath on doctors’ obligations to their patients because she still opted for telemedicine or helping other doctors get referrals. Doctors also have access to Florida Department of Health records showing patient status.

Earlier this year, Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation banning vaccination screening. Fines of up to $ 5,000 may begin in Florida as of September 16 for businesses, schools, and government agencies that require proof that you have been vaccinated.
Lawyer Juan Carlos Planas interfered with the legality of this particular case of a private medical practice.

It medically explains exactly how you want to protect your employees, and in particular, it explains that no health care professional will find that many people cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons. She even said that antibodies are not a substitute for vaccinations.
