Ms. Netrebko, who lives in Vienna, had been in Russia because the begin of September, Mr. Berin stated. She carried out with pianist Denis Matsuev, amongst others, in Moscow on Sept. 2. Then, on Sept. 6 and eight, she appeared on the Bolshoi in two performances of Verdi’s “Don Carlo,” the primary opera on the venue because it was shuttered in March due to the pandemic.
The soprano was scheduled to seem there for a 3rd time on Sept. 10, however the company canceled that performance after the bass Ildar Abdrazakov turned unwell with a slight fever. He later examined constructive for the coronavirus.
The Bolshoi instantly examined those that had been in shut contact with Mr. Abdrazakov, Katya Novikova, a spokeswoman for theater, stated in a phone interview.
