On July 22, 2022, Blue Lock released a new character trailer starring Nagi Swishiro and Mikage Reo. Unfortunately, her voice actors are still unknown, but fans are excited to see Nagi in action!
While most sports manga/anime focus on friendship and tournaments, Blue Lock takes everything that makes a team sport and throws it out the window. So much so that I would argue that this is the first survival game in a regular sport.
These 300 high school students are not risking their lives, but they are risking their futures in the greatest possible way. Because if they don’t win the Blue Lock program, they will be blacklisted by every professional soccer team in Japan.
And these students are already good enough to go pro, and some are playing Nationals. Did I mention that there can only be one winner in the Blue Lock program?
Who is Nagi Seishiro?
Nagi Seishiro appears in Chapter 22 of the manga, playing in the forward, attacking midfielder, and right wing positions. He is 17 and starts in Team V as rank 221.
Without giving too much away, Nagi is a genius who started playing soccer six months before Blue Lock. He has an easygoing demeanor but is a very picky eater and may not push himself at first.
But can he win in Blue Lock without effort or drive? Chapter 22: Until This Fire Burns Out is the final chapter in Volume 3, so anime fans should catch it around the middle of Season 1, if not sooner.
Who is Mikage Reo?
Mikage Reo also appears in Chapter 22, playing forward, centerback, and center midfielder. He is 17 years old and was ranked 222 in Team V when he first appeared.
As the heir to the Mikage Corporation, Reo was fed up with everything in life being handed to him. Reo sees himself as a jack of all trades, but his skill will always be at 99%.
He is very friendly and is the focus of most of his team’s games. Although he considers Nagi a friend, Reo also sees him as a sidekick at soccer. Reo wants to win the soccer World Cup and has the tactics to do it.
