A major shift in the status quo and newfound personal responsibilities sound like just the kind of forces that would conveniently lead to a juicy clash between a TV couple, but don’t expect that for Beth and Rip in Yellowstone Season 5. As Cole Hauser told CBR Presents, the couple is still as strong as ever. “They’ve had wonderful growth this year,” the actor said. “There are some wonderful flashbacks to understand the past and what got them to where they are as this power couple.”

Of course, it’s not all roses for the newlyweds as they adjust to their new dynamic. Rip struggles with his fresh status as a thorough Dutton relative, including the uncomfortable experience of living in the family home, while Beth battles her own personal demons. “The war feels internal to her this year,” Kelly Reilly told Entertainment Weekly. “[She’s] haunted by the past, fearful for the future and struggling with everything she has for the present moment.”

As if there had to be any other reason why Yellowstone viewers love Rip and Beth, their refreshingly mature dynamic in Season 5 of Yellowstone provides ample justification. Rather than let these new difficulties drive them apart, the two support each other when push comes to shove. “We’re still under the same roof,” Hauser told TV Line. “She comes and goes, just like me. [So] I’m there for her, she’s there for me.”
