On July 4th, 2022, the Chainsaw Man panel at Anime Expo 2022 was packed with eager fans. You came to find out about one of the hottest anime adaptations.
And if I could have attended, I would have waited in line for hours to be able to attend this panel! Unfortunately, the news was a disappointment.
What Happened at the Chainsaw Man Anime Expo 2022 Panel?
Crunchyroll’s Kyle Cardine, series composer Hiroshi Seko, MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, and MAPPA Executive Director and Managing Director Makoto Kimura were in attendance. Fans were warned that if anyone was caught recording video, the event would be ended immediately.
But that didn’t stop a few brave souls from posting short videos on Twitter; They have posters! Unfortunately, the warning seems pointless as nothing new was revealed during the panel.
We have no voice actors, trailer, PV or new artwork. It hasn’t even been confirmed that the anime will be released in Fall 2022 as Crunchyroll posters just said “Coming Soon”.
But that’s only three months away, and many are concerned that the anime will be delayed. Otsuka revealed the team wanted to show something, possibly Chainsaw Man Trailer 2, but it wasn’t ready yet.
He also said there will be news at Crunchyroll Expo 2022 in August 2022. So we only have to wait a month, but will it be worth the wait?
Fans could enjoy a Q&A. Highlights included a response from the MAPPA CEO. He is a big fan of the CSM manga and he confirmed that the anime will not censor anything and stay true to the manga.
This is a big deal because the manga has a lot of gore and some gross scenes that will mess with your mind. Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto works closely with the anime production team.
Including help choosing voice actors, which is beyond exciting!
What will happen to the Manga Chainsaw Man Part 2?
Chainsaw Man Part 2 will begin serialization on July 13, 2022 and will be called School Arc. This means Japanese fans will only have to wait a week, but there’s no word on when English readers will be able to enjoy it.
And yes, you will want to read it because the story is very confusing. The plot is straight forward and twisted.
I found Chainsaw Man awkward to read at times, but the plot pulled me in and wouldn’t let go. I’ve devoured the manga and watched countless videos on YouTube and I’m still confused about some of the crucial parts.
What do you think of Chainsaw Man?
