During an interview with CinemaBlend on Oct. 18, 2022, Hiram Garcia pointed out to DC fans everywhere what the plan is for Superman and Black Adam’s apparent feud going forward. “It was never about a one off or just a fight,” he told the publication, citing the importance and feasibility of telling a long story between the two immensely powerful DC staples. In his eyes, pitting Black Adam and Superman against each other without a real build is the wrong way to go as it’s not rewarding for the fans. Garcia adds, “Fans want to feel a journey between these guys, knowing that these guys exist in the same universe.”
Unfortunately, in terms of specifics, Hiram Garcia can’t say much about what the future holds for Black Adam and Superman. Though he was able to let CinemaBlend know that both he and Dwayne Johnson and Henry Cavill couldn’t wait to bring Superman back to the big screen. As such, one has to imagine that “Black Adam” is a far cry from Cavill’s swan song in the DCEU, and we’ll likely see him and Black Adam face-to-face down the road. If we’re lucky, maybe even a long-awaited Man of Steel sequel could finally bear fruit in the years to come.
Even if you don’t care much about the character it’s about, if you’re a Superman fan, you shouldn’t miss Black Adam.
