President Joe Biden plans to donate half a billion Pfizer vaccine donations to low and middle-lower-income countries.
The announcement will be given on Thursday as per the plans of the U.S to purchase and donate half a billion doses of Pfizer vaccine to 92 countries that come under the list to have lower income scales.
The decision from the authorities will also include the African Union and is going to be a historic action to supercharge the international fight against the Covid-19 pandemic as per the statements from the White House.
Biden To Announce U.S’s Vaccine Donations To Countries With Low-Income Scales
The White House, before Biden’s announcement, stated that if these plans become successful, it is going to be the largest ever purchase and education of vaccines by a single county, as well as a commitment of the people of America, in supporting and protecting people around the world from the deadly pandemic. The House’s statement came at the G-7 Summit in the UK.
Currently, Biden arrived in the UK on his maiden official overseas trip to Europe.
The White House authority also said that in contributing to the Global supply of safe and effective vaccines, the president has plans to call on the world’s democracies to do their part.
By the plan, Biden aims to save lives and put an end to the pandemic as well as to provide the foundation in bringing on furthermore actions that are to be announced in the coming days.
As per the present decisions, the vaccine doses are to be started shipping in August 2021. By the end of this year, the U.S is planning to complete a donation of 200 million doses in the respective countries. The rest of the 300 million doses would be delivered within the initial half of 2022.
The White House said that on this mission, the U.S will be joining and working through the worldwide initiative COVAX to complete the deliveries, and the Rose’s would be allocated to countries that have lower and lower middle income won’t around the world.
The global endeavor of COVAX is aimed to have equal access to Covid-19 vaccines directed by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, and the World Health Organization.
Biden already had plans to donate Covid-19 vaccines from the country and decided to give away a minimum of 80 million doses by the end of June. Now the current announcement is going to be historical in light of the country’s support to the attempts of wiping out the pandemic around the globe.
Besides, as of today, the country had contributed $2 billion to the COVAX initiative, an amount which no other country didn’t cross yet. The country is also supporting local production capacities abroad such as the Quad initiative to ensure the safety and effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines.
The statement further goes on to suggest that Biden’s step is historic in protecting the health of people in America as well as throughout the world, which will benefit after this plan of the U.S to donate life-saving vaccines.
