Green Lantern: Beware My Power is available for pre-order on Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Microsoft, YouTube, DirecTV and Google Play, where it will be available starting Tuesday, July 26 (via Warner Bros.). The 4K UHD and Blu-ray will also be released on the same day. Both formats will include a new featurette titled “John Stewart: The Power and the Glory,” which chronicles the infamous comic book character’s 50-year run as the Cosmic Emerald Third (via Blu-ray.com). The film is also available for pre-order on Vudu, where it will be available to view on Tuesday 9th August barring any last minute changes.
The project was announced at DC FanDome in October 2021, along with other titles to come, including Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons and Catwoman: The Hunted (via IGN). Green Lantern: Beware My Power is the fourth film to focus on the Green Lantern storyline. In addition to the horrible-scoring live-action film by Ryan Reynolds on Rotten Tomatoes, there was also the animated effort, 2011’s Green Lantern: Emerald Knights and Green Lantern: First Flight, which came out in 2009.
Since Green Lantern: Beware My Power is a Warner Bros. title, it’s safe to assume that the animated feature could make its way to HBO Max, home of Warner Bros., before the end of 2022. The exciting feature film marks the first time that the character John Stewart has starred in a solo cinematic project. Now, after years of waiting, fans can finally see a Green Lantern (that’s not Hal Jordan) take the reins in his own feature film.
