A Quiet Place Age Rating, Is A Quiet Place Safe For Kids?

A Quiet Place Movie

A Quiet Place is a 2018 post-apocalyptic horror film directed by John Krasinski and written by Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and Krasinski based on a scenario by Woods and Beck. The story follows a father (Krasinski) and mother (Emily Blunt) struggling to survive and raise their children (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) in a post-apocalyptic world populated by blind creatures with keen hearing.

A quiet place age rating

  • In total- The MPAA classified A Quiet Place PG-13 for horror and some violent imagery.

  • Force- In this film, characters (including adults and children) are constantly threatened by alien monsters that are huge, fast, and (by our standards) hideous. The creatures will strike violently if anyone makes even the slightest sound, which we only observe for a few seconds (the attacks are so fast it’s difficult to pick out details). There are a few images of the aftermath: A character lies dead on the ground with a massive cut, blood and possibly guts covering the abdomen. If one of the creatures is shot in the “head” at point-blank range, tissue and fluids will be expelled. We show a woman in labor, her waters rupturing (clear liquid dripping onto the floor) and blood in the bathtub she is lying in. After stepping on a protruding nail, the character’s foot is ripped off the nail. Children accidentally stumble into a grain elevator and “drown” in the grain.

  • sexual content- A pregnant woman is about to give birth. A couple performs a dance together and hugs.

  • Profanity- Nobody noted.

  • alcohol/drug use Medicines are displayed.

A Quiet Place – A Parent’s Guide

It’s common in horror movies to gather a large number of people and then kill them one at a time until the protagonist and one or two other important characters are left.

Extraterrestrial beings in movies seem to have some traits in common.

A quiet place film review

We watch as people adapt to challenging events as the confused family returns to their farmhouse. Shoes are not allowed. Crockery and cutlery have been removed. Even a game of Monopoly on soft ground requires careful rolling of the dice. Sign language is used for communication. It’s a quiet life that’s always stressful, and when a camera shot shows Evelyn’s swelling stomach, the audience gasps as the audience realizes what’s about to happen.

In most horror films, there is a large cast of “bait” for the ubiquitous monster. This script runs the risk of having fewer innocents to choose from, and none of them are unimportant. And when the credits roll, there has to be something or someone to applaud. The picture mostly holds together, but not without some surprising twists. And although the concept is unique.

Is a quiet place safe for children?

The image received a BBFC rating of 15 for persistent threat. It’s tense and gives you a good idea of how the aliens came to be. I’d say it might be too scary for kids under 12, but it’s also fantastic for them to see kids in the lead roles.
