To find out which Harrison Ford fans appreciate the most, Looper conducted a poll asking the masses for their choice. 565 people answered the call, and each of the six options offered had its fair share of supporters. Jack Ryan of Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger came in last with just 5.31% of the total vote, followed by President James Marshall of Air Force One with 6.37%. Rick Deckard from “Blade Runner” scored 8.5%, Richard Kimble from “The Fugitive” 11.86% and Han Solo from “Star Wars” was second with 20.88%.
With that, Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones Jr. won the vote with a whopping 47.08%, and it’s not hard to see why.
A true titan of the screen, Indiana Jones has been a mainstay of pop culture since his debut in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark. Four (soon five) films later, fans can’t get enough of the part-time treasure hunter and part-time university professor. Although he won’t be around forever as Ford has stated outright that the Indiana Jones saga and the character will not outlive him. “Do not you understand? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy,” Ford told USA Today in 2019, bluntly decrying the idea that the franchise could restart once he launches the Fedora as well.
Ultimately, Harrison Ford has had a career like no other, with countless unforgettable characters. Nevertheless, according to many fans, nobody can hold a candle to Indiana Jones.
