WATCH: Hillary Slams Rubio After He Says She Wants To Kill Full Term Babies (VIDEO)

At the ABC Republican debate Saturday night, seven presidential contenders faced off, including Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) who took third place at the Iowa caucuses. He’s the GOP’s current golden boy, expected to be the only candidate who could possibly save the Republican Party from Donald Trump (R-N.Y.) and Senator Rafael Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

So when Sen. Rubio went off on former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), and accused her and all Democrats of being extremist on the topic of abortion, it wasn’t really a surprise.

Marco Rubio: Hillary And Democrats Are Extreme

Sen. Rubio specifically accused the former secretary of believing that anyone should be able to have an abortion at any time – even on the baby’s due date. He said,

The Democrats are extremists. Why doesn’t the media ask Hillary Clinton why she believes that all abortion should be legal, even on the due date of that unborn child.”

Why don’t they ask Hillary Clinton why she believe that partial-birth abortion, which is a gruesome procedure that has been outlawed in this country, she thinks is a fundamental right. They are the extremists.”

What a passionate and no doubt very rehearsed speech. While the Senator’s remarks made for good television, and riles up his base before the primaries in New Hampshire on Tuesday, the fact is that his accusations certainly are not true.

It’s a shame that Sen. Rubio didn’t rehearse the law or what American’s think about abortion before saying those lines.

Hillary’s Awesome Response: Rubio’s Pathetic And Should Read The Law

When asked about Sen. Rubio’s comments on Sunday’s Face the Nation, Sec. Clinton called the senator “Pathetic,” according to Addicting Info. She added that his attempt to smear her as “extreme” wouldn’t work because,

He’s only trying to “buttress his credentials within certain parts of the republican constituency …  to begin to politicize this so early in the campaign season to try and raise false charges and look like he’s going to try and make sure Roe vs. Wade is overturned and Planned Parenthood is defunded is just a tried and true tactic by those on the right.”

According to VoteSmart, Sec. Clinton’s Senate votes and current position are not out of line with Americans. Addressing her own record, Sec. Clinton mentioned that that she’s always stood for,

Making abortion safe and legal, the exceptions that are appropriate that should be looked into and the very difficult choices that very few women have to confront that lead to very excruciating kinds of decisions.”

Sen. Rubio has flip-flopped on the abortion issue himself a number of times, according to On The Issues, but it doesn’t change the fact that even if Sen. Rubio’s assertions were true, the Constitution grants every woman the right to choose to have an abortion, which makes his argument moot.

Besides, the law also states that partial birth abortions are allowed in certain cases, such as in the case of the health of the mother. Then there’s the fact that 52 percent of Americans are on Sec. Clinton’s side, and are pro-choice, believing that women should have the right to choose abortion, according to Gallup.

Being the GOP’s last decent chance to capture the White House, it’s a shame that Sec. Clinton is right – Sen. Rubio’s accusations are indeed “pathetic” and out of touch with the American people.
